This work is an ode to personal growth and finding a sense of self. I was inspired to create this piece by going through big changes in my own life. The bird is shown releasing the figure from their ties, we can imagine the bird flying away with the ribbon.
The elements of this artwork have been meticulously cut from white paper, painted it with matte acrylics for rich colour, and layered to create a unique, vibrant work that play with depth and shadow.
