About

Claire Cassidy, working under the name Studio Flos, is a queer artist based on Gadigal Land.
Working primarily with hand-cut paper, Claire builds her compositions with vibrant colour, shadow, and texture. Every element is cut from paper and assembled with precision - resulting in unique work that feels modern, joyful and recognisable.
Claire’s work centres on the figure, often exploring playful themes through depictions of strong, intriguing and powerful subjects. Her work reflects her queerness, embracing complexity, resilience, beauty and above all, fun.
Claire is inspired by folk art, mythology, badass cowgirls and nature.
Claire has created commission work for Frankie Magazine, Peppermint Magazine, Made590 and Harris Farm amongst others.
Originally from London, Claire moved to Australia in 2012 and creates from her Marrickville studio.
